Using Quality Control Software To Improve Quality Process Control

Quality Control Software

Being a quality control technician can be at times, a very tough job. Especially when orders need to be filled ASAP, the responsibility to pass or fail products can be extreme at times, and a quality control technician' s popularity is right up there with Attila the Hun especially when he or she fails a product.

Yet amongst all of the confusion of the daily workload, a quality control technician is expected to know all of the procedures, and all of the specs, and know how to operate every testing machine in the facility. It is a very stressful job that many people just cannot handle. Thankfully, quality control software exits to make things a little easier.

Quality Control Software

Until recently, all paperwork had to be done manually and this perhaps is what took the longest amount of time because there are a lot of regulations both federal and state, as well as ISO regulations that must be met. This often meant that the technician would have mounds of paperwork to prepare for one report and to comply with quality system requirements.

Quality control software was created to alleviate some of the stressful workload and therefore assisting in the technician in getting the work done in a timely manner. This type of software will inspect the product with precision and accuracy and either pass of fail it. The technician will obviously have to double check the part, and decide if it is within the realm of acceptance, because what ever the specs indicate, the quality system software will use to base a pass or fail rate. Quality control software is designed for every process of quality inspection, from incoming parts to the final inspection.

This incredible quality process software will then create a report for review and the job is done. If the part does not pass the inspection, the report will indicate whether it can be reworked or it needs to be disposed of.

It will create a graph, with statistics of a specific part and alert the proper department if there are too many errors on one single part and will also list the part number and the operator who is making it.

The quality system software will then email the report to all parties that need to be aware of the events of production.

What can be better than this? Technology has caught up with the production plants and now offers a viable solution to a problem that has plagued many quality control inspectors. It gives them more time to dedicate to the overall quality control process and eliminates some of the arduous, time consuming and repetitive administrative and compliance work.
